Making Stuff: Photo Collage Wall

I have a bad habit of not getting photos up on the wall. Printing the photos is easy. Hanging them on the wall is the hard part. When I discovered Command Frame Hangers, I hung a collage of simple glass frames from IKEA on the wall without even having the pictures printed to put inside. It was that easy. A couple months later, I finally got the pictures printed from our (almost 2 year old) family photo shoot with the awesome Carson Day and the empty wall was complete.

I love the way the collage captures a moment of our family’s life (a moment that has so quickly passed). That’s why I’m already planning another photo collage of an even older family photo shoot with Carson (and planning a new family photo shoot too).

I love that you took an older photo shot, if I don’t get them up right away I think I can’t use the, you proved that wrong, love the arrangement. I am making the man’s flannel shirt quilt for my first grandbaby. It has been so easy and fun, I hope my dil loves it as much as I have loved making it. You are great, thanks for being so inspiring.
heather August 23, 2011 at 4:46 pm: this looks great! i love the colorful pictures, too. i’m considering doing this on our veeeeerrrrry long hallway wall… but on the ikea site, i’m only seeing 4×6 size frames… yours looks like there’s various sizes. am i seeing correctly?

I bought the frames quite a long time ago and haven’t looked for them in the store since. I hope they still make them since I want to do another wall!

I do think other companies make them too. Check out your local Michaels or Aaron Brothers Art store.

thanks so much! i just got back from an ikea trip, and apparently, all sizes but the 4×6 have been discontinued 🙁 i’ll have to check out michaels or aaron brothers… in the meantime, we’ve got LOTS of 4×6 frames to fill!
