Back in April, Todd and raced our second off-road triathlon together.
1/2 mile swim (based on times, actual distance was shorter)
Todd-10:00, Carrie–10:58
15 mile bike (who knew a racing “thumbs up” ran in the family)
Todd – 1:22:49 Carrie – 1:52:34
3 mile trail run
Todd – 42:10 Carrie – 36:06
FINAL
Todd – 2:18:47 (37th overall) Carrie – 2:40:15 (68th overall)
That finish time gave me a second place finish in my age division with my good friend, Kelly, taking third. The woman who took first place in our division was also the overall first place woman finisher. We thought she looked pretty jealous of our Team Sparkle running skirts and sure enough, the next morning, she ordered one of her own.
Kelly wasn’t my only friend to race and place at the Renegade Off-Road Triathlon, Brenna and Elise took first and second in their age division. Team Sparkle represented!

I love your blog. I’m running my first marathon in a little over 3 weeks and you and team sparkle are an inspiration. I have my own kelly green skirt ordered and my entire Team in Training group will be wearing them. We’ll be sure to send you a pic!

Yay! Can’t wait to see a picture! Is that the seattle race? Did you also do the San Diego? We had someone who also has a group racing in a few weeks & was spotted yesterday in SD.
yep it’s Seattle. Six of us are running in sparkle skirts. I didn’t do San Diego but a couple of the girls ran the San Diego marathon also. It was their first marathon and they did fabulous. Marathons are contagious!
